Painting is what I was always going to do.

I grew up in South Africa, then lived in Austria for seven years, then came to Florida and stayed. I got into painting by looking at work I loved and couldn't afford. So I started making it myself.

Every painting is built in layers. I work on the floor, put the canvas on the wall, come back to it. Some pieces sit for weeks before they're ready. I've learned not to rush it.
